SUMMARY:Nosing Around Macalaster Saturday Afternoon Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:It is spring break at Mac and the weather looks stunning – interested in an exterior nosework search?  I wanted to offer a pop-up field trip and see if there is any interest. JoinTeam Birdee at Macalaster college for a pop up field trip. \nI will set up three-four searches. I am setting up time slots for each hour. I think 6 teams for each  hour is about right. I can show you the searches and tell you whatever you would like to know – number of hides\, range of hides\, exact location of hides. Or I can tell you that I put out hides at the college and you can show up and just follow your dog and know there is odor. I will set up 2 searches that you can do on your own – and will see the hides and coach 1:1 at least one search.  Run orders will be set by participants – so you will need to bring your socially kind self to negotiate. \nMeet me at parking lot  – West 3. Look for my tailgate to be up and my Honda CRV. DESCRIPTION:Wheel of Canine Searching Fortune – Nose Work Style\nDate – Saturday Dec 6\nWhere – Animal Arena 1888 Carter Ave St. Paul\, MN\n \nYou do AKC\, you do CPE\, and you do NACSW scent work – have you played Wheel of Fortune Nose Work Style?  I bet not – come join the fun and bring a couple of friends. \nThis will be a Team of Teams event – Create a team of 3 humans and 3 or more dogs. Create your own ToT name. The cost is $60 for the hour ($20 per team\, or however you want to split it up). \nAdditional details will be revealed on the day of the event.  And I will have a volunteer helping me get things running – so we stay on schedule. \nOnce the searching is over – the humans will get to try to solve the puzzle – at that point the team of teams is competing against each other…. \nWill there be a real wheel to spin? Yes there will be a real wheel to spin and it is bigger than a bread box but still fits into my Honda CRV \nNeed an event where there will be laughter\, you can play with your dog\, still have  competition but no stress? \nNeed a place to practice your word and name retention skills? This is it\, all puzzles will be somehow related to dog books/films\, dog stars\, authors of books about dogs\, characters from stories about dogs\, facts about dogs…you name it – the canine is the focus of the puzzles \nFAQ: \n\nWhat kind of searches will be offered? The Wheel will tell us what type of search you will be doing – be brave\nI’d play but will there be ribbons? No\, but… there will be PRIZES\nI’d play but can I earn a title? No\, but you can earn all the GLORY for solving the puzzle – which you should share with your canine partner\nWill it be live streamed? No\, this is a social event that will not be on ‘the socials’

DESCRIPTION:Oct 4\, 2025  Animal Arena 1888 Carter St. Paul\, MN\n  \n \n  \n  \nI have secured the Animal Arena at the University of Minnesota St. Paul Campus. Saturday looks to be nice and this space is silly enough to provide novel sniffing. \nFor this month I am planning to focus on exterior spaces for searching and will set up some nice outside searches. \nNo  search will have more than 3 hides and I will make sure I am setting up single hide searches for beginner dogs. \nIt is a small arena that also includes a classroom\, two restrooms\, bleachers\, and a flat observation area.  There is exterior space as well for searching.  The floor of the largest space\, the arena – is wood chips and I will bring my car inside for a vehicle search. \nYou can pick up to four searches in your 15 minutes time  – below are the searches I will set up – \n\n2 exterior search options\n     One large NW3 type space\n     One smaller single hide search\n2 container searches\n     NW1 Container Search\n     Larger  Container Search – with distractions\n2 interior searches\nA single vehicle – vehicle search\, designed for beginning nose work teams\n$20 per team – cash\, check or PayPal/Venmo\n\n\n  \n
